A New UK Football & Education Pathway for Young Players

Lucton School offers a combined education and football development pathway with links to Wolverhampton Wanderers.

We are always looking to highlight opportunities that may benefit young players in our network. Recently, through our relationship with International Football Academies, we were introduced to Lucton School, a UK school that offers a combined pathway of education and football development.

Ryan Dickson, who runs International Football Academies, recently connected us with Lucton School. The school has established football programmes and links within the professional game, including connections with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The football programme at Lucton School is headed by former professional footballer Asa Hall. Hall enjoyed a long and successful career in the professional game, making more than 600 senior appearances across English football.

During his career he represented clubs including Birmingham City, Luton Town and Oxford United, bringing a wealth of experience from the professional environment into the academy programme. He also represented England U20 at international level.

His experience across the English professional game helps shape the football provision at Lucton, offering students insight into the standards, habits and expectations required to progress within the sport.

Potential benefits

  • UK-based education
  • Structured football programme
  • Exposure to professional environments
  • A pathway option for players looking to study and play abroad

At this stage we are still learning more about the programme and how it may benefit players from abroad.

If you are a player or parent interested in education and football opportunities abroad, this is a pathway we will continue to explore and share more information about.
