Success Stories: Omawalle Samuel Jr.’s Pathway to Lynn University

The transition from a youth prospect to a collegiate student-athlete requires more than just technical talent; it requires a foundation of discipline and character. For Omawalle “OJ” Samuel Jr., that foundation was built during his formative years with Generation Next FC in Antigua. Today, his journey serves as a definitive case study for the “Antigua-to-US” pathway that defines the GN Sports Global mission.
Reflecting on his growth, Samuel credits the structured environment of the club for his development both as an athlete and an individual.

“This moment represents years of dedication, growth, and perseverance, values that were instilled in me during my time with the Generation Next FC Foundation. I am deeply grateful for the guidance, discipline, and opportunities they provided throughout my teenage years, allowing me to develop not only as a football player but as a young man.”
The Power of Mentorship and Growth
OJ’s progression highlights the importance of professional mentorship. He acknowledges the pivotal role played by former club president and founder, Ricky Santos, whose belief in his potential helped navigate the challenges of transitioning to a new chapter in Florida.
While the collegiate route was a strategic pivot in his career, Samuel has embraced the importance of this journey as a critical step toward his long-term future.
“Representing a school at the collegiate level was not always my idea. It has been brought to my attention the importance, after many lessons that were much needed for me to learn before going on this new journey. I am honored and excited to carry forward the lessons and values I’ve learned into this new chapter.”
As OJ continues to make an impact both on and off the field at Lynn University, he remains a symbol of excellence for every young player currently wearing the Generation Next crest in Antigua.
“I look forward to embracing the challenges ahead, continuing to grow, and making a positive impact both on and off the field. This is only the beginning.”
